Fun, smart, scary and with just the right whiff of ham … Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss have served up a diabolic luxury. You do? Well, have I got good news for you. And it is basically Sherlock but about Dracula. And peak Sherlock at that: seeking always to entertain the audience, revitalising the story while revelling in its absurdity, clever without being clever-clever, and strewn with comic and dramatic flourishes that give you the feeling that this is not just a treat but a tribute — to the author, to the season, to you as an intelligent viewer. A hardcore version of Bram Stoker's novel and 's version, it takes place around an institution where patients are acting oddly and are being found with bite marks in their necks. Professor Van Helsing believes it to be the work of vampires and just when things r bad, it gets worse with the arrival of Count Dracula and this time he ain't aiming for the necks. Having seen the full, 95 minute version of "Dracula Sucks," I was impressed by the professional job they did here. Yes it is a sex film, but you will be surprised to see just how faithful this flick is to Bram Stoker's book. And while there is some comic elements to be found, it doesn't go overboard in that department.
Once again, Adam, you manage to be amusing and good-natured despite dramatically missing the mark. I seem to be missing your point. I was merely bringing up those vampires with whom I was familiar to raise the point that there are a lot more role-model vampires on both sides of the morality spectrum than the ones Adam brought up.
